Program Description

Research shows that youth participating in comprehensive positive youth development (PYD) programming demonstrate increased positive development including better school performance, more pro-social behavior, enhanced life satisfaction and/or a reduction of negative outcomes in these same areas such as less peer rejection, school failure, aggression, or drug use (Durlak, 2000; Pittman et. al., 2003; Weissberg & Greenberg, 1998). That’s why The ACE Project (a not-for-profit organization) offers evidence-based programming that can be tailored to suit any student population or youth organization.  In the near future, ACE hopes to equip mentors-in-training, coaches-in-training, and tutors-in-training to help external organizations build self-sustaining tennis programs, mentoring programs, and tutoring programs.

Our organization facilitates 4-6 week programming for students, teachers, and support personnel throughout the southern suburbs –at no cost to the school or organization!

The ACE Project offers the following programs within school, after-school, or summer camp settings:

  • Junior Tennis Camps
  • Mentoring—Life Skills Curriculum
  • Academic Tutoring

These programs help youth develop skills to strengthen positive development and in effect, reduce risky behaviors. Comprehensive programming is developmentally nutritious for youth, aiding in building resilience, protective factors, and developmental assets.  In fact, the Search Institute identifies 40 Developmental Assets® that powerfully influence choices youth make and support in their transition into adulthood. The ACE Project cultivates key developmental assets through a strength-based model that focuses on improving skills, competencies, and expanding possibilities.

If ACE programming interests you, please contact us at your earliest convenience so we may schedule a conference to plan programming for you, your staff, or your youth.
