Meet Our Directors

Susan Klumpner, LCSW:  Co-Founder & Executive Director

susanSusan Klumpner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who served as a school social worker in Dolton/Riverdale, IL. She has a background in serving children and families impacted by trauma and violence.

Susan provides group and individual counseling; consultation to faculty and parents; crisis intervention to students, staff, and parents; and develops and coordinates school and community services. Additionally, she served as a research assistant to Noble Network of Charter Schools to investigate the effectiveness of current support services.  Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Grinnell College and her Master’s Degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago in 2011.  Susan played for the Women’s Tennis Team for Lawrence University for 3 years and for Grinnell College during her senior year.  Presently, she is a PTR Certified 10-and-under tennis instructor and has been coaching youth for the past seven years.  As Director, Susan will manage the development plan, build partnerships with community organizations, procure grants and donations, and facilitate tennis camps.

Leah Friedman: Co-Founder & Program Director

leahLeah Friedman is the Junior Development Coordinator for the Chicago District of the USTA Midwest Section.  Leah consults and develops tennis programing throughout the city ranging from private tennis clubs to building programs in schools, community centers, and at-risk neighborhoods.  She has introduced the game to over 1,000 kids in the city of Chicago.  Leah is both a clinician for PTR Junior Development and a USTA National Trainer.  Prior to her role with the district, Leah oversaw a Junior Development Program with over 600 players in 10 and under Tennis.  Through her work and dedication, Leah has been named 2011 Racquet Sports Industry Junior Tennis Champion, 2013 PTR Illinois State Member of the Year, and the 2013 PTR/USTA Community Service Award.  Leah has presented at USTA Tennis Teachers Conference, PTR International Symposium, PTR 10 and Under Conference, and various USTA Midwest Workshops.  Leah graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh with a degree in Communications and Sociology.  She also competed for the Varsity Women’s Tennis Team in which she lettered all four years and had over 100 victories.  Leah is excited to bring her “Tennis Anywhere Anyhow”
